LOVE is represented by MYRTLE. Myrtle leaves are clustered in groups of threes but all grow from same point on the stem. Leaves are heart-shaped. Sacred plant of the goddess Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty. Aphrodite, born from sea foam, sought in her nakedness refuge in a myrtle bush. Many brides wear myrtle as a symbol of chaste love and beauty. MYRTLE (myrtaceae) is steam distilled from the leaves of a large evergreen shrub. Its Hebrew name is Hadassah, meaning from the tree, mistakenly translated as Esther.
